Chris Davidson – One of the things that I had to surrender for myself was I had been walking through everything, and you guys have seen me here, but one of the things that I’d struggled with was alcohol. And I went to the men’s retreat and I had a moment with the Lord when Chuck was sharing by the campfire and everything like that, and the Lord said, He said, you’re choosing that spirit over my spirit. And I had been self-medicating myself because I had hurt my ribs, and I had brought with myself, I had brought single shots to take because I was gonna medicate myself. And I made a choice that night, I said, I’m not doing this anymore. And so after everybody left, I was there, and I poured them out on the fire and I threw them in, and I said, I’m done with this, and that choice, I didn’t realize how much of an impact it was gonna have.

Obviously I did that. But then I come home Sunday night and my wife had a glass of wine, and I just got a whiff of something and it was rotten, and she put the glass down after so I could clean it. It turned my stomach. The next day she had a beer that she was having with her tacos or whatever. I said, “Let me test something.” Took it, my stomach flipped. That night when I did that, the Lord changed in my mind, in my body. He delivered me of it. I have no desire to drink whatsoever, I have no desire to give into any of that, because I don’t need any other lesser spirit. I need His spirit in me. The one that raised Christ from the dead is in me, and He can deliver every single one of you. Whatever it is, He can deliver you from it. One step is all it takes. One surrender is all it takes for you to find the freedom that you need. Do not fall short. Do not sell yourself short of what you can receive by surrendering to the Lord.
